Computer system requirements
Voice Services should run on a dedicated machine. This machine must meet the following minimum specifications.
81203_42521_14.png        Notes
These specifications are the minimum requirements only. With added load, other processes configured on the same machine, or large systems, you should exceed these specifications.
If you prefer to run Voice Services on the same machine as your FirstClass server and/or Internet Services, these minimum specifications must be added to the system requirements of the other components. Minimum system requirements for the FirstClass server, Internet Services and the FirstClass client can be found in FirstClass Administrator's Guide Business Edition, or FirstClass Administrator's Guide Education Edition.
•       Windows NT Workstation 4.0 or Windows 2000
The machine should have a high-end graphics card and a network card installed.
This machine can be gatewayed to a FirstClass server running on a Mac OS.
•       processor speed: 1 GB single processor
•       10 GB internal hard disk space
•       512 MB RAM per T1 PRI span (23 B-channels, 1 D-channel)
•       one 33 MHz PCI slot available for each Dialogic voice and fax card
If you have the universal voice cards, you can use 3.3 or 5 volt slots. Non-universal voice cards and DMF240 fax resource cards require 5 volt slots.
•       FirstClass client installed on the Voice Services machine.
This must be from the same release as your server.

Telephony hardware requirements
T1 PRI interface
The FirstClass Voice Services T1 PRI interface (North America) works with the following voice and fax boards:
•       Dialogic D240JCT(-U) single span voice board
•       Dialogic D480JCT(-U) dual-span voice board
•       Dialogic D/MF240 fax resource board
•       Dialogic VFX 41JCT LS fax resources board (4 analog fax resources).
Multiple boards are connected by a CTbus.
81203_42521_14.png        Note
If the D240JCT-U or D480JCT-U boards are not available, the D240JCT or D480JCT boards can be used providing you have 33 MHZ PCI slots in the Voice Services machine, not 66 MHZ.
E1 interface
The FirstClass Voice Services E1 interface (Europe) works with the following voice and fax boards:
•       Dialogic D300JCTE1120(-U) single span, 120ohm RJ48C, voice board
•       Dialogic D600JCT2E1120(-U) dual-span, 120ohm RJ48C, voice board
•       Dialogic D300JCTE175(-U) single span, 75ohm BNC, voice board
•       Dialogic D600JCT2E175(-U) dual-span, 75ohm BNC, voice board
•       Dialogic DM/F240 fax resource board (24 analog fax resources)
•       Dialogic VFX/41JCT LS fax resources board (4 analog fax resources).
T1 PRI and E1 interface
If your configuration includes configuring an SMDI line to set MWI, you will require a serial port for the incoming SMDI line from the CO.
You will need a T1/E1 line configured to the following specifications:
Frame mode      ESF (Extended super frame)
Line coding             B8ZS (Binary 8 zero substitution)
Switch          Nil/Null (no switch)
Signal type             NI1 or NI2

81203_42521_14.png        Note
When using the VFX 41JCT LS fax resources with a D240JCT(-U) or a D4800JCT(-U) voice board, the rotary switches on the VFX 41JCT LS board must be set to a higher number than what is set on the voice board. For example, if the D240JCT(-U) rotary switch (located on the board, see Dialogic installation instructions shipped with the board for information) is set to 1, set the VFX 41JCT LS rotary switch to 2. If you added another D240JCT(-U) voice board, you would need to set its rotary switch to 2 and change the VFX 41JCT LS rotary switch to 3.
