Use the FirstClass Migrator's graphical user interface to select the content you wish to migrate, perform the migration, monitor the migration progress, and do troubleshooting.

Main window
After FirstClass Migrator logs into Microsoft Exchange, it displays the main window:

The upper pane displays Microsoft Exchange objects. These objects are classified and grouped into three views: accounts view, distribution lists view, and public folders view. You can switch between these views by choosing the corresponding menu commands or toolbar buttons.
The lower pane displays Runtime Log information dynamically and has a maximum size restriction of 500 lines.
The status bar runs along the bottom of the window and displays application status, migration actions, and the corresponding results. The status bar also contains a progress bar to indicate the current migration status.

Accounts view
080604_43903_1.png
The Accounts view displays Microsoft Exchange accounts in a detailed list, with the original Microsoft Exchange information (for example, name and alias), and, if migrated, the assigned FirstClass Client ID.
81203_42521_14.png        Notes
All migrated accounts are shown in reverse colors (in the example above, this means white text on a gray background), and are automatically selected. You cannot select these accounts for migration again, or unselect them unless you first perform a migration rollback.
The "Check All" and "Uncheck All" options are only enabled when the master pane has focus. Furthermore, the "Check Selected" and "Uncheck Selected" commands are enabled only when there are items selected within the master pane.
You can switch to the accounts view by choosing File > Accounts View, or clicking Accounts View 29012002_110140_4.pngon the toolbar.

Distribution lists view

The left pane of the distribution lists view displays Microsoft Exchange distribution lists in detail, which includes the original Microsoft Exchange display name, and, if migrated, the FirstClass Client ID assigned to the FirstClass mail list.
81203_42521_14.png        Note
All migrated distribution lists are shown in reverse colors (in the example above, this means white text on a gray background), and are automatically elected. You cannot select these lists for migration again, or unselect them unless you first perform a migration rollback.
The right pane lists the members of the distribution list that you selected in the left subpane (in the example above, the list on the right pertains to the "Human Resources" distribution list on the left). It displays each member using the following convention:
if the member has already been migrated to FirstClass, you will see Display Name [FirstClass CID]
if the member has not yet been migrated, but has an SMTP address on Microsoft Exchange, you will see Display Name <Exchange SMTP Address>
if the member has not yet been migrated and does not have any SMTP addresses, you will see Display Name.
81203_42521_14.png        Note
The "Check All" and "Uncheck All" options are only enabled when the left pane has focus. Furthermore, the "Check Selected" and "Uncheck Selected" commands are enabled only when there are items selected within the left pane.
You can switch to the distribution lists view by choosing File > Distribution Lists View, or clicking Distribution Lists View 29012002_110147_5.pngon the toolbar.

Public folders view
080604_44240_3.png
The left pane of the public folders view displays Microsoft Exchange public folders in a tree view, retaining the same hierarchy as in Microsoft Outlook. Migrated folders have the FirstClass Client ID of corresponding FirstClass conferences appended to their Display Names. They are shown in reverse colors, but are not automatically selected unless the messages within the folder have also been migrated to FirstClass.
The right pane lists the messages contained in the public folder that you selected in the left pane. All migrated messages are shown in reverse colors (in the example above, this means white text on a gray background).
81203_42521_14.png        Notes
The message list in the right pane is only a snapshot taken when the folder was selected. Since a public folder's content usually changes frequently, FirstClass Migrator will automatically reload the message list just before it migrates the folder's content.
The "Check All" and "Uncheck All" options are only enabled when the left pane has focus. Furthermore, the "Check Selected" and "Uncheck Selected" commands are enabled only when there are items selected within the left pane.
You can switch to Public Folders View by choosing File > Public Folders View, or clicking Public Folders View 29012002_110155_6.pngon the toolbar.
