To migrate server-side directory objects and messaging information, follow this procedure:
2 Install and configure FirstClass Connector for Microsoft Exchange (optional).
3 Perform an audit on the FirstClass server.
We highly recommend performing an audit before each migration process to ensure the Migration Status Log is up to date.
4 Perform synchronizations between Microsoft Exchange sites to make sure all information is updated.
5 Run FirstClass Migrator, logging into Microsoft Exchange through both MAPI and the Active Directory Service when prompted.
If the login is successful, you will be allowed to proceed.
If you skip this step and you encounter a Migration Status Log inconsistency during migration, you will have to do the synchronization anyway, which will reset all your previous object selections.
7 Select the Microsoft Exchange objects you wish to migrate by selecting their corresponding checkboxes.
To select or unselect all objects at once, choose Edit > Check All or Edit > Uncheck All.
FirstClass Migrator will prompt you to enter the FirstClass administrator password to log into the destination FirstClass server. Once the login succeeds, the Migrator will:
validate the Migration Status Log
migrate public folders and contained messages, if appropriate.
While migrating an object, FirstClass Migrator will highlight it by setting its background color to yellow. Once it is migrated successfully, it will be displayed in reverse colors.
FirstClass Migrator will stop sending new FirstClass scripts but will continue to wait for replies from previous FirstClass scripts. You can select "Force FC logoff" to make FirstClass Migrator quit migration immediately without waiting for replies.
After the migration process terminates, whether from a successful completion, user interruption, or a fatal error, FirstClass Migrator will end the migration by:
logging off the FirstClass server
reporting summarized migration results in a pop-up window
reloading Microsoft Exchange objects and refreshing all three views.
9 When the migration is complete, log into the FirstClass server using the FirstClass client to verify that the migration was executed as desired. You can also browse the Runtime Log and Migration History Logs for further details.
