FirstClassョ Migrator for Microsoftョ Exchange Server (FirstClass Migrator) is a toolkit that lets you migrate Microsoftョ Exchange users to FirstClass. FirstClass Migrator lets you replicate your existing Microsoft Exchange information to FirstClass and remembers which information migrated successfully, preventing duplicate information.
If you decide to roll back a migration, FirstClass Migrator will restore the old information. During a batch mode migration, FirstClass Migrator can automatically resolve conflicts between names and user IDs against the FirstClass Directory (see Synchronizing the Migration Status Log for details).
You have two log mechanisms available: the Migration History Log and the Runtime Log. These provide you with detailed information about almost every aspect of the migration process.
With this information, you can review a previous migration, observe any problems that occurred during the migration, and select objects that did not successfully migrate for migration the next time.
Coupled with FirstClass Connector for Microsoft Exchange (FirstClass Connector), FirstClass Migrator provides the following additional features to enterprise users:
forward messages from original Microsoft Exchange accounts to their corresponding FirstClass accounts automatically
hide original Microsoft Exchange accounts from the Microsoft Exchange global directory upon their migration.
See FirstClass Connector documents for more information about the FirstClass Connector.
Components
FirstClass Migrator is composed of two separate utilities:
FirstClass Migrator for Microsoft Exchange Server, a server-side tool that replicates:
user accounts (as regular or remote FirstClass users)
public folders (as FirstClass public conferences)
distribution lists (as FirstClass mail lists).
FirstClassョ Migrator for Microsoft Outlookョ, a client-side tool that replicates a user's private messaging information, including:
remote mailbox (resides on Microsoft Exchange Server)
one or more local personal message stores (PST files).
These two utilities can run independently of each other, or work together. When used together, FirstClass Migrator for Microsoft Outlook retrieves the entire FirstClass Directory before migrating other objects, verifying users against the FirstClass Directory and, where appropriate, replacing their FirstClass user names at the time of migration.
For information about setting up and using the Client Migrator, read the FirstClassョ Migrator for Microsoft Outlookョ (Client Migrator) document.
