Creating a voice users group
In order to track licensed FirstClass Unified Communications users, all FirstClass Unified Communications users must be members of a Voice Services user group.
1       Create a new user group called Voice Users.
2       Select Voice client in the Special Status Access section on the Features tab of the Group Privileges form.
3       Make sure users belonging to this group have upload and download privileges on the Features tab of the Group Privileges form.
Since voice and fax messages are received as attachments, users will not receive their messages if they do not have these privileges.
4       If all users will use the Call feature, select Make voice call on the Features tab of the Group Privileges form.
5       If all users will have the ability to create and use voice menus to manage incoming calls, select Create voice menu on the Features tab of the Group Privileges form.

Giving users access to FirstClass Unified Communications
Once you have created the Voice Users group, each FirstClass Unified Communications user has to be given a personal DN and made a member of the Voice Users group. These steps are done on each user’s information form:
1       Assign the user a Voice DN and a Voice password on the User Information form.
2       Enter the Voice Users group name on the User Groups tab of the User Information form to make the user a member of this group.
3       Give the user his Voice DN, his password and the number to access Voice Services (the pilot number).
4       Have the user log in by phone, change the password, and record his greetings when he receives the login information. The following documents explain how to do this:

Adding a DN to a conference
Conferences can be assigned a DN (or multiple DNs). If a conference has a DN, subscribers can leave voice messages in the conference and send faxes to the conference to be downloaded by all other subscribers. Faxes will be in PCX format (each page as a separate attachment).
Message retrieval from the conferences must be done using a FirstClass client or a web browser. There is no TUI access for message retrieval from a conference.
The conference voice preferences and greeting are set by default and cannot be changed.
To assign a DN to a conference:
1       Open the conference’s System Directory Information form (Admin > List Directory for conferences and double-click the selected conference).
2       Add a DN in the Voice DN field.

Activating the TUI setup wizard
The TUI setup wizard assists first-time users in configuring their voice Mailboxes. On first login, users must record a spoken name, record one external greeting and change their voice Mailbox password. Once completed, the wizard will not play again unless it is reactivated. The wizard must be activated using batch admin.
To activate the wizard:
put preferences <userid> 3309 7 1
To deactivate the wizard:
put preferences <userid> 3309 7 0
To check the status of the wizard:
reply
get preferences <userid> 3309
If the reply is 3309 7 0 the wizard is not activated.
If the reply is 3309 7 1 the wizard is activated.
