About expanding lists

An expanding list expands to hold multiple entries in a similar manner to the "To" and "Attachments" fields in FirstClass messages.

Expanding lists are used with database extensions, which can add to an expanding list field automatically.

Adding expanding lists

1 Choose Fields > Extensions > Expanding List.

2 Add this field to the form.

The height of this field determines the heights of all rows added by the extension.

3 Update the following fields on the Field Attributes form as required:

Attributes tab
No bump	Prevents fields below this one from moving down as this field expands. Remember that this may cause this field to overlap fields below it.
Contents tab
Subfield type	The kind of entries the list can contain. By default, the list contains text entries, and this is what you will want in most cases. The value Enumerated List lets you specify the entries that you want the database extension to add when it adds a child. The "Enum list" field is displayed when you choose this. Type the list entries, separated by semicolons (;). By default, the first entry has a numeric value of zero, the second has a value of 1, and so on. You can assign specific numeric values, if you prefer. To do this, type the list entries in the following format, separating each entry with a semicolon: text=value For example, to assign the value 92 to the list entry Amanda Ho, type Amanda Ho=92 This is useful if you anticipate inserting additional list entries in the future. Assigning specific numbers to list entries, and never changing assigned numbers, ensures that users' choices from previous versions of the form are preserved.
