Importing icons from files

To import an icon from a file:

1 Choose File > Import Resources.

2 Select the file.

Drag the file to the resource list.

FirstClass Designer adds the icon to the Icon category in your settings file's resource list. The icon is assigned a unique resource ID and the resource name is the name of the original file.

Exception

To make a PNG file become a PNG icon, drag it to the PNG Icons category. You can also drag it to any other category except PNG and have it remain a PNG icon, as long as its file name is numeric.

3 Choose File > Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac) with the icon selected.

4 Update the following fields:

Resource name	The name you want to assign to the icon.
Resource ID	If you want to change the resource ID assigned by FirstClass Designer without overriding a default FirstClass resource, specify a resource ID between 28000 and 28999. To use an icon to replace a default system icon, you must use the appropriate resource ID.
