System requirements
To use the Log Analyzer, you need a server from which to obtain statistics files, as well as a client machine to run the application. Before installing, verify that the server and the client machine meet the following system requirements. The server must meet these requirements for the statistics files to be processed correctly, and the client machine must meet these requirements to install and use the Log Analyzer.
Server system requirements
The Log Analyzer will work with server systems running FirstClass 8.0 (build 204 or better).
Server license requirements
Your FirstClass Server must be licensed to use the FirstClass Log Analyzer. The license is applied to the server (similar to user licenses). Statistics files generated by servers without a FirstClass Log Analyzer license will be processed in Demo Mode (only the first 1000 lines will be read). You will need a FirstClass Log Analyzer license for each server you want to run the analyzer against. For instructions on how to add a license, see Licensing through FirstClass Tools.
Log Analyzer system requirements
The client machine running the Log Analyzer should meet these requirements:
•       Windows (95 or higher, 2000, NT Workstation, NT Server, or XP)
•       FirstClass Client installed (to access the server statistics files and these help files).

Performing the installation procedure
We recommend that you install the Log Analyzer on a client machine, using the server only as the source for downloading statistics files.
Run the installer file and follow the install wizard instructions. We recommend that you install the Log Analyzer with the default options.
