After setting the processing parameters, you can begin generating reports. This section describes the tasks involved in generating your reports. Ensure that your Input Files folder is up-to-date with the latest statistics files before proceeding with the processing.
Processing a single file
When processing a single file, the Log Analyzer processes one specific file and displays the reports for it.
If you have set up single input file processing, click Process from the Log Analyzer main window to begin processing the statistics file. When prompted for the file, navigate to the Input Files folder and select the statistics file that you wish to process.
Processing multiple files
When processing multiple files, the Log Analyzer processes all the files in your Input Files folder and displays the reports for it.
If you have set up multiple input file processing, click Process from the Log Analyzer main window to begin processing the multiple input files.
To view the progress of the statistics file processing (and to verify that it is running), click on the process details icon as shown below. You can also pause and continue processing, or stop it altogether, by clicking the buttons on the bottom right-hand side of the Log Analyzer main window.
Processing a disk use statistics file
If you have set up disk use reporting, click Process from the Log Analyzer main window to begin processing the disk use statistics file. When prompted, navigate to the Input Files folder and select the file.
Troubleshooting
If the Log Analyzer does not display the report, then there was an error processing the file.
Here are some probable causes:
• The statistics file you selected was empty (for single file processing)
Select a statistics file that is not empty.
• Your Input Files folder has no statistics files (for multiple file processing)
Make sure you entered the correct folder location, and check inside the folder to see if you properly downloaded the statistics files.
• You did not set the proper statistics file type
Open one of your statistics files and make sure the appropriate statistics file type has been chosen in the Settings window.
• The statistics file format settings are incorrect (for 7.1 compatible statistics file processing)
Open one of your statistics files and review your current statistics file format settings in Statistics Log.
• You have set up multiple file processing for a disk use statistics file
If you have chosen DiskUse as the statistics file type, make sure "Process Multiple Input Files (Folder Contents)" has been cleared in the Settings window.
